The Conduit (Gryphon Series #1)

All 18-year-old Celeste Garrett wants is to head off to college and make those fun, yet ill-advised, choices college kids are known for. And maybe to spend some time with the hot cameraman she just met. Instead, because of a pact her ancestors made in the 17th century with a mythical creature, she has to save the world. While normal kids are slamming energy drinks and cramming for exams, Celeste will get her adrenaline rush fighting a fire breathing dragon. She wants to meet friends in the quad to exchange lecture notes, but first she must exchange blows with a shapeshifting demon on the rooftop. Life isn’t always fair for a superhero, but at least she doesn’t have to do it alone. With her brother and sister as sidekicks, they alternate between saving lives and getting on each others’ nerves. Together the trio encounters unspeakable odds, mystical forces and comes face-to-face with an image that will haunt them forever—their grandmother in a leopard print bikini.

Review

The Conduit is the first in the series and it pretty much introduces to the audience about the paranormal world that Celeste and her siblings will be crashing right into. Ready or not, here it comes, and they all seem to be accepting it, except for Celeste (she will eventually).

I loved the banter between all three of the Garrett siblings, it adds a whole lot of humor to book. You could probably make a separate book with all of their snarky humor, hey I'd buy it for when I needed laughs. Celeste is a great heroine, she's strong and yearns to live a normal and independent life. Realizing what she is and what she has to do, it's tough for her to come to terms with it.

Alec ... I DO NOT LIKE HIM. He just rubs me the wrong way.

I am glad that I got into this series when the last book came out because I would have been able to deal with a book that ends like THAT.

But thankfully they all pick up where they ended in the previous book.

Embrace (Gryphon Series #2)

Young Adult and Teen Reader voted Laugh-out Loud Series of 2012 & Author of the Year 2012 to Stacey Rourke! Whether she likes it or not, eighteen year old Celeste Garrett has come to terms with being the Chosen One. She knew having a "normal life" would be tricky, between intense training sessions and epic demonic battles, but she didn't know at what cost it would come. That is, until a dear friend is harmed by the malicious forces hunting her.

Now, she'd like nothing more than to retreat into a hermit lifestyle to prevent anyone else from getting hurt. But startling revelations, amazing new abilities, and mortifying moments in front of insanely hot guys won't allow time for that. Soon, Celeste finds herself surrounded by darkness and wondering who she can trust-if anyone.

Review

Like most series, with every book it just gets better and better.

The bickering remains among the siblings and it seriously never gets old. In this one, we see the romance play in for Celeste. And he is the perfect match for Celeste, BUT there's another guy she has run into that I kind of want her with (he's a pirate!) Can we say love triangle? As much as I don't like them, I foresee it happening.

We get to see more fighting, new characters (ones that just add onto the humor). Lets just say that I love the Dark Army Glee Club, I just about died every time that had something funny to say when they crossed paths with Celeste.

ALEC ... still don't like the guy and he has gone completely dark now. I'm sure things just get better from here.

And of course, those endings will be the end of me ...

Sacrifice (Gryphon Series #3)

Celeste Garrett has finally found a happy balance in her life as the Chosen One, thanks in large part to a certain hunky Irishman. But if there’s any lesson she should heed since receiving her calling it’s that everything can change in the blink of an eye. Soon a terrible new threat, unlike anything she’s ever encountered, causes her to make a gut-wrenching choice that will strip her of someone she holds dear.

As much as she’d like to have a pity party for one, there’s no time for that now because wedding bells are ringing in Gainesboro! In between dress fittings and rehearsal dinners Celeste will have to fend off attacking demons and leering pirates. As if the Dark Army wasn’t scary enough our heroine is faced with the horrifying trauma of attending a bachelorette party with her mom and watching Grams do Jello shots. Is a walk down the aisle even possible for a member of the Garrett family when the Dark Army is out to destroy them? More importantly, will the Dark Army Glee Club sing at the reception?

Raise your glass to the happy couple, and get ready for a wedding…Conduit-style.

Wedding bells are a ringing, but whose is it?! That you'll have to find out on your own.

The love continues to grow for Celeste and Caleb, but Rowan still shows face (I don't know about that one, I do love him though). And we get to see a lot more Rowan in this one, that I like, no complaints from me.

I think this book might be my favorite in the series, there's just SO MUCH going and I couldn't keep up. If you weren't hooked already in the previous books, this one will get you there for sure.

As the series progresses, we get to see Celeste's development as well, she becomes more accepting of her role. Well how would you feel, if something showed up at your doorstep and didn't ask nor want it? It's a war for sure, but she finally understands, but quite a bit is at stake.

The one thing I love about the series is that we just learn to love each character more and more. Ladies, you'll be swooning over Caleb and his perfection.

Some craziness happens and it will pull on your emotions, but what ever will it be?

Review

It's the 4th book in the series and pretty much guns are blazing and ANYTHING could happen. Basically, be ready for anything cause you might not like some of it.

This book will definitely answer a lot of questions we had from Book 1, crazy that we had to wait that long, but at least we got answers. With that being said, secrets are revealed and you'll be speechless at some parts.

To be honest, it's so hard to talk about this book because it really will give it all away. I can't even mention little parts because that's too much. Anyways, the humor will always be in tact, you will be completely connected with this book and just gripping all edges of this story.

Unfortunately that ending was something else. It does get pretty confusing, but that's not at all how I wanted things to go. Sadly now we wait ... for the next book. I just want to know what happens already and what the next one has in store. To me, it's a bit of a clusterf*ck and things could definitely go in any direction, no sense assuming what will happen. Knowing Stacey, she'll have plenty twists and turns along the way.

Yep, I'm a fan of this series!
