Blog Tour + Review + Giveaway // Left Behind by Vi Keeland and Dylan Scott

Two stories so deeply intertwined, you’ll think you know how they intersect…but you’ll be wrong….

Zack Martin

The day I met Emily Bennett my whole world changed. Sure, we were just kids, but I was old enough to know my life would never be the same. She was my best friend. My destiny. My fate. I wasn’t wrong…I just didn’t know how twisted fate could be.

Nikki Fallon

After the death of my mother, moving from my dark and dreary trailer park to sunny California, I was focused on one thing – finding a sister I’d only just learned existed. Falling in love with him wasn’t part of the plan. But he filled a void I never knew was possible to fill. He had to be my fate. My destiny. Until the day I finally found out who my sister was…and how twisted fate could be.

Vi Keeland is no stranger to me, I am such a fan of her MMA Fighter series, so I excited when I came across Left Behind. After reading this one, Vi Keeland and Dylan Scott make such a great team in the writing world. And this book is an awesome addition to the YA romance genre.

I loved the development of Nikki throughout the book, she is such a strong character. She spent her moving from one place to the next, all while taking care of her mom. When her mom passes, her world is shifted. Thinking that she really has no one left and possibly moving to a foster home because she's not of age, she finds out that she has an aunt and sister in California.

And there's Zack, finding his best friend and love at the young age of nine years old. Shoot forward eight years and they're still inseparable. But with time, things have changed and a time where words were exchanged and lives altered forever.

A bit of silence and a run around a track brings Nikki and Zack together. And from there, the rest is history. Their stories unravel little by little and secrets are revealed. Once the truth is out will it bring them closer or drive them apart?

There are so many elements to love about this book, the characters, the dialogue, the storyline, and I was so thankful that there wasn't too much angst! Zack and Nikki have their own hard issues to work. And how often do you get a male character that doesn't sleep with everyone under the sun. He's a sweet and very caring guy. And I loved his post-it notes, you'll see what I'm talking about when you read this one. Zack, you're just a keeper.

Nikki - she has lived a tough and it's really easy to sympathize with her, I teared up a little bit here and there for her. Learning that you have an aunt and sister after your mom passes, talk about emotional overload. It's all overwhelming, but she remained strong.

To me, this story is easy to relate to. They've suffered loss and had to find hope, all while finding love as well. To be young and in love, I'd definitely love to see another story with them, maybe eight years later, but that's just me! It's an emotional book that'll give you all the feels, extremely well written and it flowed really well. It was hard for me to put down because each page keeps begging you to read on to see what happens next.

This one is a winner!

Meet the Authors

Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work. She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!

Dylan Scott is a New York trial attorney, wife and mother of four. She believes her job as a trial attorney is a subcategory to the field of entertainment more than law. With a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature she believed teaching English was a destined career choice until she realized her life long talent of "argument" could actually be her job. A recent, fairly boring, midlife crisis resulted in a brief stint as a middle school English teacher which confirmed that she wasn't ready to give up the law. Dylan has also taught legal courses at the college level and worked with at-risk inner city youth in the roles of mentor and coach. She is co-author Vi Keeland's biggest fan.
